Hi Everyone, Wanted to give you the background story to my new book: Retirement Earned: Lessons from the Journey, Dream Big, Start Early, Plan Smart.
I started with the intent of writing this book to leave a legacy for my children and grandchildren. Something where they could read about the history of myself growing up as well as the history of their mom and I. But when I started researching retirement statistics for the book, I was quite frankly shocked to learn that almost 60% of all Americans will have less than $10,000 saved for when they retire. There is another 20% that will have saved only between $10,000 and $100,000.
Imagine working your entire life and 80% of Americans turning 65 will retire in poverty! These statistics were so startling to me, that the writing of this book became a passion project! How could this happen? Why hasn’t this been talked or written about to the extent that it should? If this were a medical issue, we’d say this is an epidemic happening across America! In my opinion, this is a financial epidemic sweeping America.
This book’s target audience is written especially for readers in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, Retirement Earned emphasizes that financial security is achievable regardless of income level. Through relatable stories and practical lessons, the book encourages readers to start early, think long term, and develop habits that can create lasting wealth over time.
I blend my own personal experiences, proven strategies, and decades of real-world insight, while presenting a straightforward guide for individuals seeking long-term financial independence. Rather than focusing solely on investments or retirement spending, the book addresses the often-overlooked years in between, where discipline, mindset, planning, and consistency shape future success.
